The WBBEC is governed by a Management Committee which can be made of a minimum of 3 of the following roles; President, Senior Vice-President, Junior-Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
Our Management Committee is currently made up of the following team:
Roger Currie- President
Roger has been active in the local and state wide conservation sector for the past 20 years. Roger was the former President of the Wide Bay Burnett Conservation Council and has been the President of WBBEC since its inception in 2011. Roger holds a Bachelor of Science Majoring in Protected Area Management and operates as an Environmental Consultant in the Wide Bay Region.
Roger is a member of the Queensland Department of Environment and Heritage Protection expert biodiversity and Wetlands panels, Roger is also the current interim chair of the Queensland Conservation Council.
David Arthur – Vice-President
Kerryn Ward- Secretary
Kerryn has been active in the local conservation sector for the past 20 years. Kerryn has held the position of secretary of WBBEC since our humble beginnings in 2011. Kerryn has a passion for education and human rights.
Emma-Kate Currie- Treasurer
Emma-Kate has been active in the local conservation sector for the past 7 years and spent her teenage years in the bush developing a life-long appreciation for nature. Emma-Kate has held the position of Treasurer since 2011 and enjoys ‘crunching numbers’ in her spare time.
Michaeal Weekes Junior Vice President
The organisation is currently run by an Administration Officer and Manager who are both employed on a casual basis. Our Administration Officer is responsible for the day-to-day running of the organisation while the Manager is responsible for overall management of the organisation, community education and liaising with the local and state wide conservation sector and all levels of government.
